After the heavy rains, we were hopeful to find morels and other fungi. Alas, no morels were found but a small number of interesting specimens were collected. For edibles, only 1 very small oyster mushroom and 2 short stemmed slippery Jacks were found.
Date: ‘Wilderness Wednesday’, June 3, 6 PM – 8PM: The daily vehicle fee ($15) is waived by Alberta Parks on the first Wednesday of every month.
Location: Kananaskis Country – West Bragg Creek Day Use Area – approixmately 45 minute drive west of Calgary.
Terrain: Rolling hills landscape next to the Rocky Mountains. Mountain forest mix of aspen, poplar, spruce and pine.
