We held our first in-person Annual General Meeting (AGM) and President’s dinner since 2019 at the Santa Maria Goretti Italian Centre in Edmonton on March 18th, 2023. Andy MacKinnon, coauthor of Mushrooms of British Columbia, delivered two outstanding presentations to us:

• A Natural and Cultural History of Magic Mushrooms in British Columbia
• Fabulous Plants and Their Fungal Friends

Chef Patrick from the Santa Maria Goretti Centre prepared a delicious lunch and a four course dinner. We kept our energy up with a delicious wild mushroom soup and Italian sandwiches at lunch. For dinner, we feasted on:

• Black chanterelle, spinach and ricotta cheese ravioli
• Roasted wild mushroom salad, crispy cheese tulip on base frisee
• Alberta pork medallions, morel sauce, swiss rosti potato, asparagus, and grape tomato
• Candy cap mushroom panna cotta
