We experienced a lovely day at Genesee Natural Area. The area hadn’t received much rain in the past weeks, so everything was quite dry. Older Russulas were everywhere in the landscape. We did manage to find an interesting variety of other fungi, once we trained our eyes to stop recognizing Russulas 😆. My goal was to find something interesting, and I was successful: I found my first Gyromitra infula!
A huge thanks to Ash Johannesen for expertly guiding and entertaining our foray group!
