We had a lovely time out at Genesee Natural Area. The weather was warm, and the recent moisture did wonders for the mushroom population! We found a wide variety of interesting specimens. Waxy caps, Pigs ears, Russulas, etc.
Finds:
- Agaricus spp
- Gomphus clavatus – several patches
- Ganoderma applanatum (Artist conk)
- Hygrocybe spp
- Inocybe spp (fibre caps)
- Pholiota squarrosa
- Ramaria – crown coral (pale brown), inedible yellow variety
- Royoporous badius (Black Footed polypore)
- Russulas spp. – many
