In the field of amateur mycology, Martin has done it all. He is a regular lecturer at Alberta Mycological Society events as well as general outreach to the community at large.  Martin has led mushroom ID classes for over 20 years for a variety of organizations, from the Canadian Association of Foodservice Professionals, libraries and communities across Alberta, to technical talks for Alberta Society for Human Toxicology.

Martin’s background & passion include Medicinal Mushrooms and almost any mushroom found in the Boreal forest. He is sought after as a speaker and presenter at a variety of events including several mushroom festivals across Western Canada. 

Martin has presented on a variety of mushroom topics at Wild Mushroom Expo for several years. At this year’s Expo, Martin will be speaking on his favourite two subjects: food and medicine: “How to eat more mushrooms, and why”.
