The Leccinum boreale is Alberta’s Provincial Mushroom. We will talk about the backstory of how that came to be. It is one mushroom that does not appear in many field guides. What does it look like, where can you find it, and most importantly why this is important to us.  We will also do a bit of a general dive into Leccinum. It is easy to figure out that you have got the genus Leccinum, but really difficult to figure out which species.
