We enjoyed a delightful Father’s Day Foray at Pine Lake, just south of Red Deer, led by the wonderful Candice Cullum. The weather was warm, and we didn’t get wet until nearly the end of the foray—a small price to pay for future mushroom bounty, so no complaints about the rain!
Nearly 40 enthusiastic participants joined the adventure, and we’re grateful to everyone who made the journey.
Despite recent dry conditions, the group discovered a decent amount of oyster mushrooms, along with Agaricus, Coprinus, and a few other fungal treasures. Beyond mushrooms, foragers also spotted cow parsnip buds, mint, and nettles, adding to the day’s delights.
