Special Meeting to Consider a Special Resolution

TAKE NOTICE THAT the following Special Resolution will be presented for consideration at a Special Meeting of the members of the Society to be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 6:30 p. m. at Tempo School located in Old Riverbend:
That the current Bylaws of the Society be amended as indicated in the document of the proposed amended Bylaws (link at the bottom).
Please note that most of the proposed amendments are required in order to accommodate the change in our membership year from a calendar year to a rolling year. In other words, your membership will henceforth last for a year from the time you pay your dues.
We are also adding a category of membership, namely “Spouses and significant others of Honorary Life members”. (Article 2.1 (f)). The Board has decided to set a fee of $10.00 for this category of membership and will seek approval of the membership for this fee at the meeting.
Finally, the proposed amendment to Article 7.2 is required to correct a mistake in the number of the Article dealing with Special Resolutions referenced in Article 7.2.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the meeting. At the conclusion of the meeting, a short neighborhood foray to the John Janzen Nature Centre will be held.
